STRESS RELIEF
.1. Early to bed, early to rise; getting yourself to go to bed just 30 minutes earlier may help you feel rested in the morning. Plus, those who are looking to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight can benefit from getting up earlier in the morning. Use the extra time to take a brisk walk or make a light healthy breakfast.
.
2. Cut down on media interaction. This may be a hard one for a lot of people but researchers have suggested that reducing media exposure such as internet, television, and even mobile phones may give you more time during the day for other productive activities such as exercise. You may end up having an extra half hour or so if you reduce how often you check emails, text, watch T.V. and play video games.
.
3.If you can’t break away from the television try to be active while watching it. You can watch a fitness DVD or even consider video games that encourage cardio activity. Just don’t allow yourself to be too much of a couch potato.
4. Can you change the way you commute to and from work? There are more people saving money on gas by riding their bikes to work. This can also be a great way to get more fitness activity into your day. If this isn’t possible, try taking brisk walks at lunch for 10 to 15 minutes or consider bike riding on weekends at the same time you would get up for work.
5. If you like to socialize, figure out a way to do both: socialize and exercise. Make family activities include something that allows for good physical activity such as flag football after dinner. Maybe consider playing a sport with friends besides just getting together to watch it on television.
6. Chores don’t have to be boring; look for ways to make them physically fun for fitness purposes. Running the vacuum, picking up the kids toys, and cleaning the garden can be fun activities if you just take a few moments to think about how you can make them more enjoyable. If you can’t think of anything, that’s okay since you are still getting in exercise anyway.
9.Choose a fun activity you want to do and promise yourself you will do it regularly. It can be a sport, hobby, or something you used to do in the past.
